²⁶ When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.” ²⁷ Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time, this disciple took her to his own home.

²⁸ After this, Jesus, knowing that everything was now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst.”
